Sounds like you have an '85 and up 8V 90A alternator...
Instead of having 2 mounting ears on the bottom, it has one wide bottom
mount, right?
If so the wide bottom bracket fits into a bracket that will not fit a
16V.

Sell it for $50 and get a rebuilt 16V alternator.
