USRT rallying in the Adirondacks (wish us luck)

Okay, guys. I am off to Upstate NY for "Black River Stages". This will be the
USRT's second to last rally of the season. The event is known for its
numerous and spectaculor yumps (jumps in rally-speak) which thrills the
crowds but is hard on cars and crews.

It will be interesting to see how we make out over them. "Spanky", the rally
Golf, has a bit more suspension travel than the Warpig, but... he also sits
lower to the ground -not much higher than stock. Another challenge is
alignment. Unfortunately, we just found out last night that the centerline
alignment is off in the back of the car. So, it crabs a little bit at
high-speeds. Oh well!

Many know that my sister, Trisha, normally takes care of the navigation
chores. However, she is attending a fashion convention this weekend and
could not make the event. So, I have enlisted the services of Mk1 GTI list
member, Phil Mueller. Phil has a good background in TSD rally navigation as
well as rallycross driving. This combination of skills should greatly
benefit the US Rally Team this weekend.

Additionally, Chris Jevens, from the Scirocco-l and ClubVAC lists, will
pitch in for pit crew work. Rallying is very much a team sport and I am
thankful to have such reliable and enthusiastic guys on the team! Wish us
luck; this event is fast and fierce.
