When it comes to wings....go big or go home hehe.

BTW, my Zender wing is lighter that the stock 16V wing even though being
made out of the exact same material.

Subject: the function of rearwings...

RE: [Mk1 model car ] Minichamps released new series of Mk1 Scirocco - very
nice !

cosmetic? Thanks.

the main function of the rearwing on the Scirocco2 is to provide
a sharp edge to cut the airstream ( we call it "Abreisskante" in German )

The Mk1 already has that edge integrated in the rear hatch.
( and therefore doesn't need any rearwing in addition )

Downforce on the rear axle is not that important on the front wheel drive
Scirocco
but the weight of the 16v rearwing does the best for that ;-)

Honestly, it wasnt the best idea of the german engineers
to introduce that rubber monster on the hatch of the 16V's.

The so called GTX wing was better than the 16v wing
because it was only half as heavy and had a more defined edge.

Greets !
