[TECH] Extreme Lunacy!

Well, my hopes of getting my car done before the winter are dwindling
quicker than my bank account! I wanted to put motronic in my 81, but now I
don't think it's going to happen until spring. My question is, can I put in
the stock 16v ignition and fuel system in. How hard will it be to convert.
Here's my options:

Full Motronic Conversion (in the spring)
Including moving the fuel distributor over to the other side of the engine
compartment so I can use the Motronic injectors and bigger intake.

"Potterman" Motronic Conversion (with the adapters, again spring time)
Keep the fuel box where it is and continue to use the 16v lines and such.

16v conversion (stock)
I have everything I need right now to get the car running.
Fuel Distributor, harness, computer, etc.

Has anyone converted a 8v Mk1 to 16v before WITHOUT going to Motronic ? Or
is this so silly that it has never even been considered. I have to be able
to move the car before winter, otherwise I would just cover it until spring
and not worry.

I just need help and suggestions...

Thanks,

Jason
