Following the attack on Pearl Harbor the government of California and the
Federal government both acted in unison to violate the Constitution and the
civil rights of Japanese-Americans and Americans of Japanese ancestry for
one reason only...their ready identifiably by race.

California Gov. Earl Warren, later a Supreme Court Justice and supposed
bastion of civil rights, confiscated without compensation all personal and
business assets of these loyal Americans and, with the cooperation of the
Federal government, had them displaced to concentration camps where they
languished until the war ended and they returned to nothing.

There was never a proven incident of any Japanese-American or American of
Japanese ancestry spying, committing an act of sabotage, or in any way
offering aid and support to the Japanese Empire. The 442nd Nisei Regiment
served in Europe and became the most decorated unit in U.S. Army history.
The highly-dramatized movie "Go For Broke!" tells only part of their story.

In contrast, many Italian-Americans, Americans of Italian ancestry,
German-Americans, and Americans of German ancestry either returned "home" to
fight for their fascist regimes, or formed "bundts" to raise money and
support for the Italian fascists and German National Socialists. They wore
fascist
and Nazi uniforms and saluted Mussolini and Hitler without being rounded up
and interned.

Even though hundreds of these people were arrested, convicted, and even
executed for acts of espionage and sabotage they were never targeted for
general incarceration...because they "looked like us."

Most Arab-Americans and Americans of Arab ancestry are as loyal as the
Japanese-Americans were during WW2. We must ensure that we do not repeat the
mistakes of our parents and Grandparents and allow ourselves to be blinded
by the issue of ready identifiably and oppress good people because of a very
small minority. We must not violate the word or spirit of the Constitution.

The war criminals who inspired, funded, and ordered these acts of terrorism
are NOT true followers of Mohammed or the Koran any more than the
"Christians" of the hate-filled "World Church of the Creator" follow the
teachings of
Jesus Christ or the Bible.

Let us remain true to our Southern roots and view and consider each person
as an individual rather than "one of them."
