2.0 16v

the project car finally runs, but not without flaws.  The idle goes up and
down rhythmically at the extremes from 400-1500 rpm.  the only other info i
have is the fuel pump that was put it that was laying around makes probably
too much noise.  What should i be looking for?  would a bad idle switch on
the TB be a potential cause (it sorta seems like that to me right now).  It
also has a nasty high pitched wine (new tensioner pulley, so not that i
would imagine).  Tom, its a noise you should be familiar with.  Do
waterpumps sometimes make this whining noise?
