Factory Oil Cooler removal Q's...



I spotted a coolant leak under Victor's hood recently, it is from one
of the hoses that has a branch going to the factory oil/coolant heat
exchanger.  Perfect time to un-plumb that beast, I think.  So...is it
just a matter of getting the 8V hoses and removing the sandwich adapter
(which requires a shorter threaded pipe to mount the filter, right?)?  

Also, for youse with no oil cooler, what is your fully-warmed-up oil
temp?  If you could give me an idea of around-town driving vs. after
heavy driving, I'd appreciate it.  FWIW my car now gets to about 105C
and won't go above that unless I'm running it *very* hard.
