You CAN and probably should recycles the OEM rubber bumpers to prevent 
any abrasion by the new lines on tires/liners/etc.  After making a 
tapered dowel to get old rubber piece (OK Beavis troll), realized that if 
you thread the new line onto the old OEM line after removing from caliper 
but BEFORE removing from strut, you can exert pressure and transfer said 
piece to new ssteel line.  Secure with two cable ties to hold in place.
Obviously this is for the front and may not work with old Girling 
calipers that have the left hand thread for the caliper end?


If you have uncoverd braided line, perhaps the 3-1 (as opposed to more 
common 2-1) electronic PE heat shrink tube might work?  There is always 
the split convoluted wiring loom stuff, too, but htat might be a mixed 
blessing.
