Here we go again!

Jason, you have gotte yourself into a interesting situation that I happen
to be in as well.

Good news is, you can get to the stud from the top side.  Pull the carpet
from behind your pedals.  Down near where that panel behind the pedals
joins the floor, there are a couple of access holes (sometimes covered up
with this brown tar paper like substance) poke around till you find the
holes and you will find the tops of those studs.  I plan on either
drilling or pouning out the old stud and welding a bolt in it's place..
