possible new acquisition - 90' Corrado G60 Q's

I have a freind who recently offered me his 90 Corrado G60 for $1000.  It
has a few probs and I tried to talk him into fixing them, but he has lost
interest in the car.  I am curious as to whether this is a decent deal, or
if I am getting into a money pit.  Aside from faded paint and a few dents,
the belt inside the G-lader is broken?, and there is a metal grinding sound
inside?  Rebuild?  Cost?  Needs CV's,  exhaust repair, strut bearings, hood
release, and a lot of TLC?   133,000 miles, PW, PDL, PM, cruise all work and
the interior is in good shape.  Newer 16" rims and tires.  Any advice?
