At the place where two pipes are joined, one slipped over the other and
the clamp has made an indentation you can get a cutting disk and cut a
slot inline with the length of the pipe, oh about and inch or two, from
the end to just past the indentation. Then with a little screwdriver
prying you have opened up the outer pipe's circumference enough to slide
it off.

When it comes time to clamp it all back down again, (and you didn't cut
all the way through BOTH pipes in the 1st place, right?), you can clamp
it tight again without a loss of gasses.

Making sense?
