As long as your stock jack points are in good shape (i.e. not bent/starting
to fold under the car), just put the jack stands about 6" behind (towards
the back of the car) the jack point you used to jack up the car.
This will put the jack stands right under the door hinges.
Beware you MUST use the rail under the rocker panel (same rail as the jack
point). If you're not on that rail, you're under the 1/16th" thick floor
panel. About 12" towards the center is the frame support rails, but they are
not designed for pushing straight up on with a small cross sectional area of
a jack stand. If you must put your jack stands there, use a wood block to
spread the load. Jack stands/wood/soft metal tend to make me not want to
jump under that contraption, though.
I've jacked up 6 different sciroccos this way and never bent/damaged
anything.
