I have spent over 20 years making plastic models, and I can easily
say that a bunch of people as mechanically inclined as you folks
could easily put together your own setup for vacuforming. We have all
seen how mechanically inept I am, and I have made several vacuform
setups over the years. All you need is a framework of some sort (to
hold down the edges of the media), a gasket around the edge of the
framework, a heating element of some sort (hair dryer will work in a
pinch), and something to generate a mild vacuum underneath the
framework (I have even used hand pump bulbs).

If anyone needs help on setting up a vacuform platform, please feel
free to email me.







The goal is to overcome the deliberate nature of the process.
