RE: cutting out

one of two things, or your confused or I am, and I quote from your first
message "I have a 1.8 carb 1989 scirocco gt"

if FI was introduced in 88 in Uk, (was EARLIER (if I am right 1983-4 models
were CIS FI)) then your 89 carb is a HYbrid engine. thus my question
remains.

It'll be a standard mechanical pump that runs off the intermediate shaft -
carbed sciroccos were available in the UK until not long before production
ceased, although the 1.8 version didn't come along until '88, I think. My
'87 is a 1.6 carb.
