There's no need to wait. What I did for a similar project was throw
modeler's clay on top of the tower and then drop the hood. That will smush
the clay down to the exact profile of the hoodline. Voila, there's the
available space.

Speaking of BSI, I spoke to them yesterday and found out about the A2
suspension trick. First of all, it applies to the front end only. Secondly,
they're cutting the A2 strut tube down to match the size of the A1 tube.
There is no increase in travel, actually.

Rather, they're doing it because the difference in the mounting tab position
allows for greater wheel clearance. Thus they can run a high-offet wheel and
fat tire without fouling on the spring. In fact, they're stuffing 225-width
rubber completely under the fender.

BSI's recommendation for us was to mount the camber plates higher up and to
run shortened strut/shock shafts. So, that means Bilstein Sports for me. BSI
doesn't feel that modifying the rear is even all that important. Doing it to
the front, however, would be "tremendously worthwhile".
