Steering Rack Questions

hi all,

I am in the process fo buying another 16v scirocco and am planning ahead..

The thign is, i like the 2.5 turns lock to lock of the 16v power rack,
but dont want power, all the manual racks are 3 turns lock to lock.

Can i put the rack and pinion from the rocco 16v rack in a manual rack?

Also, i have found a 924 rack FS, is it true these are fewer turns lock to
lock, all the info i could find on porsche sites said this rack used with
the 924 spindles was closer to 4 turns lock to lock... but with VW
spindles this could work differently...

P.S. got a good tip on reducing bump steer from a 924 site too.
