Re: Fuel mileage

Taller whels don't necessarily take mileage away especially if you are
running a comparable to stock tire size. Now, wider tires will mess with
fuel consumption.

The pump doesn't care how low the tank is as long as there IS fuel in the
tank. Pumps can burn up when nothing is running through them since the fuel
is also the coolant of the pump. It is, although, a good practice to not
have your tank under 1/4 because you never know if you might get stranded
somewhere and need to use the motor for heat or something. Always something
I think about when going anywhere out of town with my Fam!! As far as my VW
is concerned, since I don't have a baffled tank I frequently run out of gas
anywhere from 1/2 tank down when taking hard long right turns (especially
off ramps).

HTH!!
