Hot start problems.....suggestions?

What causes hot start problems other than that hot
start sensor thing being bad?  Despite it starting to
be winter, BU's car is acting up where it just plain
won't run sometimes when its warmed up(not necessarily
HOT).  The car stranded him today at lunch. He had
this same problem two summers ago but went away after
I put a timing belt on the car and he replaced the
radiator and coolant.  He just called me a couple
minutes ago as he was walking back to the car and now
that it sat for a couple hours it started immediately
and thus he envoked sciroccopower. Any suggestions?
