RE: Suspension and bumpstops

I just put the same springs on my car, and I've got about 3 inches between
the bottom of the bump stop and the spring seat. I say about because it's
impossible to be completely accurate with the rubber boot in the way, goes
between the bump stop and the spring seat. It's there to protect the strut
from road gunk, and I would guess this is what you're actually looking at.
Stick your fingers between the lowest set of coils you can (probably 3rd or so
up) and give it a squeeze. If you can get any deflection, it's the boot not
the bump stop. My bump stop is new and white, so it's really easy to tell it
from the boot. If you really were riding the bump stop, there would be almost
no clearance between the tire and the wheel well I would think.
As for the bouncy feeling, that could easily be the tires, although the
springs are rather stiff.
     Good luck, HTH.

Cheers,
Colin
