  What state are you in?  If it is Virginia and they put a inspection
sticker on a car that has things wrong (exhaust leaks, bad tires,
un-safe steering)  then they car loose their inspection license and get
a big fine from the state.  If that is the case, don't bring your car
back to them.  Tell them they need to pay for you having the car fixed
enough to pass inspection at a place you choose, I'd go to the local vw
dealer because they will be the most and the parts will have a
warrantee.  They will hate it, but it will be better than them loosing
their license.  That's what I think.
