4-2 manifold

I has changing the head on a 82 8v and the 4-2 manifold is different
from the one I have to put on my car.  This one had a sort of ball end
that is held to the down pipe with two clips.  The one I have has a flat
flange with 6 threaded holes.  I know the two will take different down
pipes.  Which is the better flowing set-up?
