Re: Starting 16v while pressing gas



I believe that the reasoning behind this is the cis-E.  Since the system is
electronic the computer might see this as a 'cruise' mode as compared to the
'cold start' mode that it would see if the throttle switch was being
depressed by the linkage.  IF you are looking for the reason why you have to
do this, I would suspect the switches themselves, your throttle plate
adjustment (which is what the closed point would be on the throttle body,
Bentley tell's you how to adjust it correctly) or a vaccum leak of some
sort.  At least those are the simple things to look at, obviously you could
have fuel or electronics problems not to exclude a bad computer.  HTH!!
