Quite.   That's why you get vibrations(sound)from a plucked guitar string
only when it's stretched tight (solid).  
Put another way, strike a four-foot steel rod and it will "ring".  Strike a
four-foot length of steel chain and it won't.

So you are saying Larry that resonant harmonics become more pronounced in a 
solid structure than they normally would be given a loose structure? Keep in

mind that harmonics are vibrations.
