Really?  Hasn't happened in my case.  And thinking about it, I don't follow
your logic - for instance, passenger cars have been built with increasing
rigidivity and "stiffness" for the last 20 years or so - and the effect
is just the opposite - to make them more solid, rattle-free, and long-
lasting.  What am I missing?
