I'm having this problem right now with my 86 8v. May be the 
thermotime switch (Haynes Manual suggestion, I know I know, 
Haynes is bad, but I can't find any other ones) but I just replaced it 
and still it doesn't help...

Going to the junk yard today to rip out some fuel system piecesof 
anything they have there and see what happens.
