FS: "Warpig" (1984 Rabbit GTI rallycar)

Guys, the famous Warpig may be up for sale. (I sold it to a US Rally
Teammate a few months ago to pay for his pretty Golf rallycar which I then
promptly wrecked.) There is no cheaper way to get into wild world of
full-tilt rallysport.

In this case, the owner has his eyes on a factory-prepared Dodge Shadow
Turbo. If'n he does decide to part with the mighty Pig, it will probably be
let go for a steal. I know that $2500 could buy you the following:

The good:
2.0l 8v motor w/knock sensor ignition (approx. 145hp & bags of torque)
ported/polished head w/g-cam
4k transmission w/Quaife
Techtonics race downpipe
Techtonics 2" exhaust
10-point rollcage
custom-valved Bilstein dampers
custom progressive rate springs
aluminum skid plate with subframe
gas tank skid plate
battery in trunk
90A alternator
oversized 16v radiator
new front fenders
Zender rear 3-piece wing
complete Rabbit GTI parts car

The bad:
Dinged sheetmetal
some rust in non-critical areas
cv-joints need replacement
fuel injection system needs tuning

The Pig is a very competitive rallycar prepared to SCCA Group 2 standards.
It took its crew to the 1997 NEDiv championship and has never been rolled or
smashed.

All this car needs is body work, a rack of rally lights, intercom system,
and a navigation computer. I can arrange for all to be provided at some
additional cost.
