if its the distributor oil seal ring you're talking about, you can tell by
oil sitting inside your distributor cap. any oil in there is bad news. it
also seems that once you see a little bit of oil the problem gets worse
rather quickly.
also, taking the dist apart isnt easy, be sure you go pulling on the right
pieces.
