On each bumper support, where it attaches to the car, there are two bolts. How
about if you matched the inner-most hole on the bumper with the outer-most hole
on the body? Perhaps you could drill a new hole in the bumper support and
tack-weld a new nut so it wouldn't want to sag...

hi all

after all the body work on the 81s mars red s i have still to put the bumpers
back on the car.  what im wondering is if i can somehow shorten them in length
without any *major* mods.  i know that before i put the euros on my 87 i went
out and bought the bumpers off an 83 and crushed em down with the little
canister in them.
the metal on the 81 bumpers doesn't have the little hydraulic canister
thingy...kind of remind s me of what came on the 87.
  anybody want to give me a heads up...?  mad bastard...how did you do that?
