Re: [tech]mysterious clunking noises.



Check anti sway bar bushings, the ones on the control
arms and the ones by the back control arm pivot. 
Also, check tie rod ends and ball joints, see where
that gets you.

Wheel bearing failure is usually evident by a whine or
groan during slow to medium turns, on the outside
wheel.  Doesn't sound like that from your description.
