starting questions

waiting on USPS for Bentley, so here's were I'm at, car set for couple
years, drained old gas,cleaned tank pick-up filter, put in half tank of
fresh gas,installed a fuel filter between tank and new fuel pump,new fuel
relay, car started for a couple of seconds then dies,,seems to run a few
seconds  longer after trying it a few times, what should I be looking at to
try next????????
