possibly aquiring.....

i am looking forward to getting an 82 rocco... FOR FREE! the guy says that
he thinks it runs, and the interior is PERFECT! (with the exception of the
dash.. duh) the body is pretty decent, it need a pair of door handles, and
some minor rust repair, but my dad's definatly fixed worse.   it's green,
with a white pinstipe that goes from the tip of the fender down the body and
up up the c pilar.  is that factory?  i'm not sure how many miles oar on it.
is this a good deal?  should i part it, or use it as a project?  also, what
was the first year of the MK II?  thanks,
