RE: sripped timing pulley



If you stripped the stud it can be extracted just like a exhaust manifold
stud and a new one threaded in.  If somehow you have stripped the hole in
the head that the stud goes in, you will need to helicoil like you said.

I have also heard of people drilling and tapping a new hole for the stud
after welding up the old hole and drilling a new one very very near to it.
