I use satin black paint on my wipers and window trim (S) and it looks good if 
I must say so myself . 
I did my wiper in several coatings each time flipping the short peice up and 
down . It did take a few days since I refrained from putting finger prints in 
it . Mine does not rub at all at the hinge , either mine is special or yours 
is not the best example to use.  HTH
