Re: Vw's on the side of the road

I am a helpful person when I see people in trouble, but I will bend over
backwards for a fellow VWer. Chris DeLong are you out there?

I am here and can vouch for Daves willingness to help out a fellow dubber.

My timing belt broke jsut outside of Eugene and Dave used his AAA to have my
car towed to his house where it sat until I was able to trailer it home
(Seattle).

The last 2 times I stopped to help a fellow dubber, the first 2 guys were
totally drunk and their Rabbit died. I didnt feel the need to help them get
their car running and offered them a ride but they refused. Oh well. The
other time time this guy went around a corner too fast near my house and
totalled his very sweet '84 GLi. I talked breifly with him and told him I
would return with my bus to pull him out of a ditch. By the time I returned
the cops were there with a towtruck so I kindo jsut drove on. I didnt see
him wreck it so I didnt see a need to help the cops out.

OTOH, I am rather callous when it comes to non-VW drivers with broken cars.
I have been known to yell at the traffic stoppers that they should've bought
a VW.

Anyway, Dave is really a stand up guy. Thanks again buddy!
