Re: High Compression & knock Sensor (advice needed)

Title: High Compression & knock Sensor (advice needed)
Cory,
I am installing the Audi 2L in my mk1. I am also going to be using the stock Audi distributor (which is not cheap by the way). For the knock sensor stuff, I am ordering a kit from fastforward motorsports (www.fastforward.ca.com I think). This kit is supposed to be plug and play, but I have not received it yet so I cannot say for sure how complicated this will be. I will let you know when I get it.
Oh, also, I bought my 3A from a place on the net called Cherry Auto parts. They also have one at my local stealership (Campbell-Nelson VW) for $500 if you are in the Seattle area and are willing to pay that much.
HTH,
Todd

Subject: High Compression & knock Sensor (advice needed)

I need to know what is the procedure to install a knock sensor on to
an engine.

Here is the scoop.  Old '82 roco in parts, getting fixed up with a new
Audi 2L engine.  Going to try and have a JH head shaved and a 266 cam put
into it.  I want to use the old Fuel system, and if possible the old
ignition. Going to use the stock Audi Distributor.

I need to know if the Knock Sensor will wire up to the '82 ignition, or
if I should get the whole system from another car.  AND, if I get a new
ignition system, does that affect anything else I have to worry about.

Thanks

Cory
