Are 8V and 16V coils interchangeable?

I have a poor running condition on my 82 Cabby (1.8L JH) that I think is
spark related.

Can I put my known-good 16V coil in it to test if this is the problem?

The connections look the same but I can't read a part number on the old 8V
coil to see if they are indeed the same part.
