Well, I've got a Yakima rack on my 87, and it says that the max load is 
180lbs. Check it out at www.yakima.com

I don't think I'd like to load up a Kart on there though, and think that a 
small trailer would be better.

Oh, and a kart is like a grown up version of a go-kart. Fun.
