RE: battle of the MK1s

Ok, ok,

In all fairness your right. I disassembled the Roc in April 1999 when I
sold the motor to Keith Davenport who is no longer on the list.

What was going to be a simple 16v swap turned into a complete restoration
project that is about halfway done. The motor is all but finished,
electrical is done but can't be put in till the body is repaired and the
cage welded in and the whole shebang painted.

So, for anyone following the saga, no, the ragtop won't be at ND. I'll be
there in the Passat again.

But, for anyone who cares, here is a rundown of the contents of my boxes:

1978 MkI with dealer installed sliding ragtop
Zender Z-1 Exclusive body kit
Zender upper and lower hatch spoiler
Zender Grill with integrated grillspoiler
2.0 ABA block modified to fit 16v head.
AMS turbo manifold
Garret 60AR T-3 turbo
Modified Mitsubishi Starion Intercooler
MIC#3 pc programmable engine management
550cc injectors
Short runner manifold with fuel rail
Wasted spark ignition....means no distributor

Suspension and brakes are what you would expect from a fully built
MkI....full autotech swapbars, subframe, bilstiens, coil overs, 16v brakes
(possibly going to G60)

Interior is full 16v including dash and MFA

Estimates are 250+ HP to the wheels at 15lbs boost on pump gas.
