[List Admin] Site update!

I was busy this weekend working on the new home for scirocco.org.  I
put in a pair of dedicated 20amp circuits (one for the machines area,
the other for my future finished half of my basement), and ran all
kinds of wiring (12/3 don't bend well).  I took an old tall cabinet
and reworked the shelving to be a machine rack to hold the CPU's and
accommodate wiring runs.  I added several nice overhead lights so I
can see what I'm doing properly.  I got the Linksys router up and running
on my test machine, and I found a host to do MX / CNAME (TZO.com)
redirects to my dynamic IP.  I also ordered some more cat 5 wiring so
I can hook up all the machines to the Linksys switch.  The machine 'farm'
consists of two Sun Sparcstations, two G3 Macs, and an older PII.  Well,
this project is nearing completion hardware wise.  After that, it's all
software loading, and configuration.  I might be done in a month or so.

I plan on loading mySQL for our special DB needs, glimpse quick searching,
real time list archiving / HTML page generation, and photo uploading.
I will also configure / install site collaboration software so that
other members of the scirocco list can add content to the site (like
putting up photos / stories on get-togethers, or someone can maintain
the list members page, etc...)

Downside of moving the site is that I may not elect to move the
mail boxes / addresses of those people that currently use an email
address at scirocco.org because I don't have the unlimited bandwidth...
we'll see after everything is running.

I'll warn everyone ahead of time if there's going to be any outage
of the list or site.  Once I get a final cost associated with this
build up, I'll post to the list in order to hopefully have our
membership help offset the expenses.  Thanks!
