Wheel Question and Roccos

Hey listees,

What is the largest offset on a 16" rim one can run on a scirocco II without 
getting the spider effect ----where the tires stock out from the car?  I want 
to try and keep the tires flush with my scirocco to avoid to disheartening 
stone scratches....uggghhh.  Any ideas.  Thanks.
