[Tech] Update on the 'Roc

(Also posted to VW Vortex)

After taking the advice of checking all the connections and making sure they
were clean and such, I found a great deal of connections that I had missed
and had not cleaned, which I DID. Dad dried 'em out as I let some of them
sit and soak in DW-40 for a little while, here and there, and he tried
adjusting the airflow sensor plate again as well, and it seems it got to
running again, wonder of wonders... with a few curses. I have one nasty gas
leak on the distributor that needs a seal(seems to be MISSING... arf...),
not to mention the idle is rough and lopey. That's the reason I got this
update posted. I feel that it's got something to do with the cold-start
components, and the thermo-time switch, along with the control pressure
regulator...

When it first starts(cold), it's like it wants to die, but it keeps running,
barely... after a little while, the idle picks up a little, but it's lopey,
sluggish, inconsistant, and it takes a little pressure of the gas to make it
even barely pick up. If I press the switch on the throttle body to richen
the fuel mixture, it picks up almost to where it used to run at before I
took it off the road, but in no way sufficient. Now, after I take it for a
5-minute drive, the idle skyrockets/sticks at 1500-2000 RPM, and stopping
only when the car is shut off. Start back up, and it hovers at 600, still
terribly inconsistant.

Any ideas?

Also, hoiw can I get ahold of a Momo wheel adapter and spacer? *Knows
someone's gonna say Potterman... grins*
