Well I'll agree with you, but I know, when my car runs, daytime it
runs border line 14volts, all lights one and fan on 12.5 volts, so to
me anything lower then 12V is trouble anyways. (battery discharging).
It don't take a rocket scientist to see the volt meter at 10-11 volts
to figure out that your in trouble.

amps meter installation is not that complicated anyways, its an
electrical gauge (allot easier than trying to install
a mechanical oil pressure switch on a engine block.)
