Well after realizing what was wrong with mine, I would say if you are
running 20w50 you could try 15w40 and see if it does the same, and if
not try 10w40 I guess... but all in all, sounds like your going to
need a new pump in the near future.
Like I did.. if you live in Canada, I could refer you a guy that have
his own shop.. he sells Blistein bran new oil pumps for 100$ Canadian.

just recently, the idiot light in my 16v will come on while idling,
but
dims and goes away when the revs pick up. oil level is fine. oil temps
are normal. is the pump on its last legs? maybe i can get by with a
thinner viscosity?
