cold 950-1000 rpm, when warm I cant get it below 1200 rpm

  i was having problems with the '84 not dropping below 1250 rpm when
the weather was cold (screw turned all the way in). now, since it's
warm, it'll idle low properly when first started. however when i get up
to a light or blip the engine a little bit, the idle goes back up to
1250 rpm. drives fine and no hesitation. i'm thinking it's the auxillary
air valve, but would appreciate hearing any other ideas. thanx.
