Have you removed the oil pump? I have seen instances where the oil pump 
bushings have gone bad and caused the intermediate shaft to twist the dist. 
Be sure you have the retainer plate for the intermediate shaft removed as 
well as the oil pump and the dist. Be sure to have the machinist check the 
oil pump bushing while its being hot tanked. Always replace intermediate 
shaft bearings. They are a wear part wand should be replaced upon rebuilding 
and engine.
