RE: [tech] 16V Oil Pressure

Mine came out of an Audi 4000S
When the engine is cold, it pegs at 5 and stays there 'til everything's
warm.
Once the engine is to temp, it will fluctuate between .5 and 5 as I'm going
from an idle to 5~6000 rpm.

I've noticed that when my roc is 'idle-hunting' that the psi will drop
around 0 and if it happens too many times, it causes the lifters to start
tapping.

the only tap dancing I like is Gregory Hines....

too tired.....very sleepy....

Subject: [tech] 16V Oil Pressure

I finally got around wiringmy gauges for my 16V. The Volt and water temp
work great but I'm not sure whether or not the oil pressure gauge is reading
correctly.

Installed is the oil pressure gauge from an Audi. At idle, the gauge reads
3.4 - 4 bars. Honestly, I don't recall the exact reading. However, during
accelartion, it gets pinned at 5 bars. What readings should I be getting
and is this the correct gauge for a 16V? Anyone? TIA
