(OT) cool VW people

Add another incident to the cool VW people file. Took the Rocc to the local
cruise nite at the Tim Horton's ( always good for a stir since it is way too
new, but they were low on 50's and muscle cars so they let me stay) Anyway,
the parking guy tells me to park by two air cooled Beetles, and I start
talking to one of the owners and he asks me if I'd like to drive his '67 bug!
Took exactly 2 seconds for me to agree, maybe a bit less (heck, I'll drive
anything, including a school bus, yes BTDT) I was surprised at the get up and
go it had for 48 hp, (after driving A2 diesels, it was a complete rocket) and
after I got used to the clutch and full back seat position, I had a good time!
The owner was really nice, very patient, and I guess he drives it year round,
so it is no trailer queen. The way it should be, pity not to drive a car I
say. I offered to let him drive mine, but he declined. So there was a reason
to stay home from Cincy! Cathy
