I tend to agree with dave, with the exception that I would check the engine
a little more throughly drop the pan, and liberate (1) one piston bearing,
and if the inner seals is pitted (like small shard of metal missing) then
overhaul the engine is a good thing. otherwise, check the cam bearing and
see if there is play on it, and check the space on your vavlve discs with a
micrometer.

surprises on a JH, well its a volks engine... there are always
surprises...hehe.. get a bentley... the engine section is VERY DETAILED.
