Drat, I thought this was going to be an 'interesting', true confessions
type post. <sigh> Oh well. I was going to say you don't need to feel
filthy about it but instead I'll come back to reality and say this instead:

- Plastic shower cap added to the arsenal will be your new best friend.
- Hard to recommend surgical gloves for the nail thing in this case, but
the adage about rubbing lotion on 1st and getting bar soap under the
nails helps later when degreasing time comes. (There is a liquid glove
product I have used before too.) Still, Nitril gloves are what I use.
- I just did a clutch job myself, it was the longest one, time wise, I
have ever done. (dunno why exactly either.)
- Timing: Let me dash out to the car......

Bentley says:
Digital Idle Stabilizer disconnected (Pull male/female connectors and
join them together during timing procedure).
Vacuum hoses CONNECTED.
1980-82 = 3 degrees ATDC.
Other models mention 6 degrees but it depends. I believe you can bump it
up past 3d & if it's not pinging you're OK.

- Recently I found _another_ reason to upgrade the front brake rotors to
vented: When doing the CV joints I found it easy to jam a screw driver
in the vents (braced against the caliper) and then torque the 12 point
bolts out and later back in again.

- I rediscovered my love affair with Blue Locktite on this job. Last
time I did the Roc's clutch I had the bolts back out on the inner CV's
after about 2ooo miles. 'Sprang!' as the last remaining bolt bent and
came loose. 8[) How mortifyin'.

- Don't forget to add those secret James Bond gadgets once you get the
drive train done.
