Shit, that sucks.  those rubber plugs seem to work pretty good though.  I
got a drywall screw in the lower part of the sidewall of my RE-71 with tons
of tread left, and it's holding pretty good (a month now) and it's gonna
stay that way till I can afford new tires.  I dunno about affecting speed
rating, but I've been 170kph without a problem.

Try a plug and then throw the plugged tire on the back of the car

BTW I used 2 plugs in the hole.
